A Safe Place Where Broken Hearts Heal

Welcome to Magale Orphanage Center in Mbale, Uganda!

Come see what God is doing in Uganda with the orphans!

We care for 150 orphans over half whose families have died in landslides around Mt. Elgon.

We provide them food, clothes, and an education.

We give them love, nurture and hope even after their families are gone.

We give them a place of belonging and a family.

While there may be weeping for a time, we eventually see hope and joy come back to their lives

Will you join with us in ministering to the orphans in Uganda?

  • Though We Don’t Understand

Magale Orphanage Center was started because of tragedy. Mt. Elgon is notorious for landslides that can wipe out villages in seconds especially during our rainy seasons. This can leave not only people homeless and hurt but it leaves behind many orphans who will struggle to survive unless someone steps in. These children are not scooped…

    Christmas List

The children came to me the other day and asked about if this year they will get a Christmas. They pointed out it’s been 2 years since they have gotten things like new clothes or shoes. My only response to them is that they need to pray and have faith. I don’t know what this…

    The Land is Bought!

The money we have been trying to raise to buy one acre of land for crops has come in. It really was a struggle, but God has proven Himself faithful. The seeds of various vegetables were planted and so now we are just waiting for our harvest. Please be praying for an abundant harvest in…

  • Mourning

Another landslide took out 3 villages and killed men, women, and children. We are in mourning. Some of these men, women, and children are from other local churches and the mourning is great not only for families but for the church families here. II was one of the first ones on the scene and dealt…

    My God Provides!

Remember the story of how God provided a ram in the thicket when Abraham was told to sacrifice his son, Isaac? Some of you might remember how we had been seeking to add another goat to our one lonely goat that we had here as well as to provide more income to our orphanage. Well,…

    Perserverance!

August the winds and rains came and our church was damaged but it doesn’t stop us from worshipping our God or proclaiming His goodness or faithfulness to us. You see, bad things and hard things will happen but if they didn’t happen we would not learn how much we can trust Him. It’s easy when…

  • Highschool Testing

Here in Uganda, our students must test to get into highschool. It costs us about $140 to get them all tested which we paid for ourselves in April. So recently we just sent 14 of our students to go take their exams. Many of them went with confidence. We are waiting to hear back on…

    Mudslides

We here in Mbale, Uganda are all to familiar with mountain mudslides from Mt. Elgon, but nothing like what has hit the U.S. states recently in North Carolina and Tennessee. We know how whole towns and villages can be wiped out from a mudslide, the death tolls, and the tears because loved ones and neighbors…

We Have a New Deaf School!

God’s timing is perfect! Can I get an ‘Amen’? You see, sometimes you don’t get to know the miracles that happen, but we want you to be able to celebrate and join in the answers of prayer that God is doing here. In July, Evangelist David Woodrum visited along with Pastor Daniel Brummer. The posts…

  • Education in Uganda

Education in Uganda is different than in the United States because, where as there is a system in place to raise funds through taxes in the U.S., this is not how it works in Uganda. While education is supposed to be free for elementary ages it is not. Parents are responsible for a variety of…

    A Step of Faith

Here is the 1-acre piece of land we are attempting to buy. We have raised $1,140 but still need the remainder to reach $2,300. The landowner has been frustrated at how slow the process has been at collecting money as he too is trying to put his own children now through university but God has…

What Happens If There Wasn’t Magale?

The truth of the matter is that these kids if we chose not to get involved and open up an orphanage is that these kids would have to figure out how to survive on their own and many times the ugly truth is that they can’t and they die. Many of our children are too…

  • A Forgotten Missionfield

Many years ago, when God opened a door for me to start teaching children’s ministry in WA state I felt that somehow I missed my calling to be a missionary. Then all the sudden one day I began asking God if I was just not seeing missions from HIS PERSPECTIVE. I began studying children and…

    Volunteer Highlight

This is one of our amazing volunteers here at the orphanage who works both day and night as the need arises who is the nurse here. Her name is Carth. To be a nurse takes a lot of compassion, but to work in an orphanage with children who have lost so much takes someone with…

    Til’ All Know

A lot of people will think of the verses about Jesus coming back until all people hear the truth but what about the Deaf? Recently a hearing man here went to a Deaf school and wants to be able to open up our school to the Deaf children here in Uganda so they may know…

  • Clan War Victims

On the western and southern sides of Mt. Eglon are the Bagisu or Bamasaba tribal people and to the Northest is the Iteso tribe. Due to clan wars on the borders of these two tribes these three children now are left without their parents. Due to their age, they may never remember their parents. Who…

Can You Hear Our Voice Now?

We have been working with mostly orphans from the Bantu tribes in Uganda Africa. Over 50% of our orphans have lost family due to the land and mudslides from Mount Elgon. We have tried since our opening in 2017 to get connected with an organization or church other than our own little church called Fountain…

The Wet Season Will Be Upon Us Soon

We have two seasons in Uganda and that is the wet and dry season. Our wettest season is from September to November which means there might be more mudslides here very soon. Be praying for the Bantu tribal people who are located on Mount Elgon where many of the landslides happen. Also, be praying for…

  • Re-Building Project

Our Buildling Repair Project – Late August 2024 a rainstorm blew through ripping off the roofs of our kitchen, hall, and bathrooms or putting holes in them. We need roughly $2,000 raised to get all the materials to repair these projects and complete them so that our children have a safe place to live. Many…

Poor Lonely Goat Needs a Friend

So, we have a goat… just one. She’s a female goat and she’s birthed successfully before. You can barely see her in one of the recent photos as she blends in with the dirt and the walls of one of our buildings that just got damaged. Whether you know it or not, goat meat is…

    Rainstorms and Roofs

In late August we ended up having a lot of rain. Sadly, due to lack of finances 3 buildings we were working on got damaged by the rains. Our kitchen, hall, and bathrooms were damaged but praise the Lord all our orphaned children slept safely and soundly and were unharmed. We know that the Lord…

  • How Magale Orphanage Got Started

Magale Orphanage Center started back in 2017 when a small church in Uganda decided to fulfill a commandment from the Bible about taking care of the orphans. In eastern Uganda, many families and villages start around the mountains due to the rich, fertile soil where they start farms, however, due to the high amounts of…
